ABOUT THE CONTEST:
The object of the contest is to create a two-dimensional picture or
painting portraying the spirit of the Carnevale! Venice Beach 2009.
Limit one entry per person.
POSTER
SPECIFICATIONS:
All posters should
be 11” x 17”. You may use watercolor, markers, ink, charcoal,
pencil, crayon, acrylics, oil, computer generated graphics, or any
other recognized artistic medium. However, the actual original
artwork must be submitted, mechanically reproduced or forged entries
are void.
ELIGIBILITY:
Contest open only to residents of Southern California and/or owners
or employees of businesses located in Southern California.
Participants must be at least 18 years old as of May 1, 2009 to
enter. Void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. All
federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
HOW TO ENTER:
Beginning April 1, 2009 until 11:59:59 p.m. PST through May 1,
2009 you may enter the Carnevale! Venice Beach Poster Contest by
mailing your entry, along a $10 entry fee per submission in
the form of a check or money order to:

Please attach a
cover page with the following information: Your Name; Home Address;
Home Phone; Birth Date (Month/Date/Year); and Title of Poster. Dogtown Artists Group is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late,
stolen, illegible, postage due or misdirected entries.
DEADLINE:
All entries must be received
no later than
May 1, 2009.
WINNER SELECTION:
Artwork that has been properly submitted and meets all technical
requirements will be judged on originality, inspiration, creativity
and consistency with the Carnevale theme. Judging will be conducted
by judges from Dogtown Artists Group. Decisions of judges are
final. In the event of a tie, the most creative poster will win.
THE PRIZE:
One (1) First Prize: $500
will be awarded to the winning entry. The Prize is nontransferable
and no substitution will be allowed. All federal, state and local
taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winning
participant will be notified individually sometime on or about May 7, 2009. The Prize will be forfeited if not claimed within 90 days
of winning. The
winning posters, along with selected other entries, will be
displayed in a yet to be disclosed location in Venice Beach.

DISCLAIMERS:
Entries become the property of Dogtown Artists Group and will not be returned. Winners will be required to verify
residence or employment in Venice, CA and execute an affidavit of
eligibility and a liability release form within 7 days of
notification attempt.
Dogtown Artists Group, all contest sponsors, their
respective agencies and officers, directors, and employees assume no
liability for damages, losses or injury resulting from acceptance of
or use of the prize. If, for any reason, the contest is not capable
of completion as planned, including by reason of tampering,
unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other
cause beyond the control of Dogtown Artists Group, Dogtown Artists Group reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend the contest at any time and without
notice. By entering this contest, entrants accept and agree to be
bound by these rules and the decision of Dogtown Artists Group,
which shall be binding and conclusive on all matters.
Dogtown Artists Group and all contest sponsors and
their respective agencies and officers, directors, and employees
assume no liability for damages, losses, death or injury resulting
from the development and execution of this contest and/or acceptance
of or use of any prize.
Contest entry constitutes an assignment to the
contest sponsors of all copyrights arising under both statute and
the common law and all other rights derivative therefrom. By
entering, the winner and other finalists grant Dogtown Artists Group the right to use and publish their names, photographs,
character, voice, and likeness and to publicize the winning entrees
and the names of the winner and all finalists online and in print,
or any other media in connection with the contest for promotional
purposes without further compensation unless prohibited by law. |
